From the 23rd to the 25th of September we were asked by our co-main sponsor Solvay to support their celebrations of launching the building phase of the 1,7 MW Fuel Cell at their Lillo plant in the Antwerp harbour. The launch was the highlight of the celebrations of the 40 year presence of Solvay in Lillo.
Solvay wanted us to show what how silent and environmentally conscious a Fuel Cell can convert Hydrogen into electricity. They are building this mega plant to convert their restgas and ‘waste’ product Hydrogen into electricity for the people and community living in they area around the plant. A very nice concept!
The event was spread over several days: one with a lot of stake holders in the H2 industry and community, and one for the workers at the Lillo plant. Both were very interesting for us to show our technology to highly interested people.

The Zero Emission Racing Team's new project has officially been started with he start of the academic year. In total 12 students of three different university colleges have been selected to design and build the different components of our next hydrogen powered racing kart. Karel de Grote Hogeschool will be building the chassis, bodywork and drive train. Groep T from Leuven students will building the hydrogen feed system and KHK from Geel will take care of the fuel cell development. The new kart will be superkart based and has to be faster, safer and more energy efficient than its predecessor. Umicore and Solvay, on behalf of Solvicore, have agreed to be the main sponsor’s again, while Triphase and Mols stay loyal supporters of our project.

From tursday the 20th untill monday 24th of May Technopolis, Umicore and the Katholieke Hogeschool Leuven organised the Nanodays.
During these days students could get to know the advantages and disadvantages of nanotechnology. The applications are limitless but how do you work with something that is a million times smaller than a millieter?
By letting the students do some scientificly-fun workshops and by giving them an explanation, the students could discover different applications of nanotechnology.
As Umicore is our main sponsor we gladly showed ou go-cart to the audience and explained how the fuel cell actually works. |

Every year the circuit of Zolder is organising an event to promote clean racing and mobility. Last year we were present with the same go-kart and established an (un)official world record. This year we also invited our Dutch friends from Delft to give a demo on the track.
The event attracted a lot of people from all over Europe and it is clear that this event is still growing. Thanks Zolder for having us!
